5.Basic story (Planned):
Azure '88 unfolds its story on Earth in the year 2088. In the 2030s, due to continuous environmental pollution and natural disasters, humanity decides to seek a better life by migrating to Mars. Consequently, only a small portion of the population remains on Earth, unable to afford the migration costs, leading to the halt of all major industrial activities on the planet. As a result, the environment gradually begins to recover. However, with most of the population and infrastructure moving to Mars, Earth becomes increasingly marginalized, and society begins to succumb to corruption. Left neglected like citizens of third world countries, Earth's inhabitants yearn for the stable future and advanced technology present on Mars. In this scenario, the space shuttle "Oriental Express," bound for Mars every ten years, becomes their beacon of hope.
Against this vast backdrop, the story of high school student "Hana" begins. Dreaming of a better future, "Hana" seizes the opportunity to secretly board the cargo hold of the "Oriental Express." However, this opportunity comes at a cost and must be paid for.
The game follows protagonist "Hana" on a journey to collect the money she owes to a broker by undertaking risky temporary jobs delivering goods across abandoned cities. "Hana" must raise the required funds within a specific timeframe.
The story revolves around the courage of a young girl venturing to find hope amidst a desolate Earth, exploring themes of societal corruption, environmental issues, human resilience, and hope. Azure '88 goes beyond being a simple game, posing deep reflections and questions about illegal immigration.
