To adapt this concept to a tycoon game, we had to create a unique approach—a matrix that allows us to present the fans of a given club in a way that highlights the significant differences between them. [h2]Everything Starts with Needs[/h2] Copa City is a tycoon game that revolves around the needs of the fans. Everything starts from there. When designing the system of needs, we divided them into four main areas: • Need for food • Need for accommodation • Need for safety • Need for entertainment (which we call the need for a football festival) The expectations of the fans in the game are built around these four needs. The player's task is to adapt the city's infrastructure to meet these expectations. Importantly, each club will have a different way of realizing these needs—some will require better hotel facilities, while others will demand higher security levels at events—this will influence the player's strategy during gameplay. Additionally, the needs of both clubs affect each other, meaning that each match-up will require a different approach to gameplay and strategy. To add depth to the game, we divided the fans coming to the city into three main categories: • Fans • Ultras • Family supporters Each of these groups focuses on different types of needs, as mentioned earlier, adding further depth to the gameplay. Depending on the club, the player must not only manage the "needs of the club" but also the needs of the various groups coming to the city. For example, ultras will be a group of fans for whom identification with the club and the football festival atmosphere are the most important, while family supporters will prioritize providing attractions for children and ensuring a high level of safety in the city. The demographic structure of each club is also different, adding another element that distinguishes clubs from each other. All differences between clubs are based on analyses of the behavior of fans of specific clubs, their preferences, and the priorities of different demographic groups. At Triple Espresso, we work with a scientist who holds a PhD in this field, specifically in the behavior of football fans 😊 Thanks to these aspects, choosing any club for a match will present a different organizational challenge, which is intended to make the gameplay unique in specific match-ups of particular clubs and cities. At Triple Espresso, in addition to our Art Director who ensures the visual consistency of the game, we also employ people who have worked on the visual representation of the biggest football club in Poland (from which country we originate). These individuals form a team that ensures all elements related to club branding and characteristic visual elements perfectly reflect the club and fan realities.
