Welcome to Inertial Drift: Sunset Prologue.
This is very much a tiny taster of what’s to come, and we’ve been looking forward to being able to finally get something into your hands.
You see, Inertial Drift is by no means a standard racing game. Sure it looks like it in video or screenshots - but it is our hope that, when you touch it, when you feel the twin stick drifting mechanics, you’ll understand what sets Inertial Drift apart.
The goal was to take inspiration from the likes of Ridge Racer 4, where the thrill of the drift is such an integral part of those experiences and redefine, expand and explore those mechanics. To offer the player a new level of control and satisfaction from the simple act of drifting.
This is less a game about coming first, but rather the thrill of the chase, and the intensity of being pursued. But underneath all of that, the joy of bettering yourself. Of really getting to grips with the intricacies of your car, learning the tracks intimately and improving your times and your level of skill.
In Inertial Drift: Sunset Prologue we also wanted to highlight just how different the each individual car really is. When we say ‘fiercely individual’ we really mean it. Both the Coda Gecko and the Dragon will offer two very different styles of racing and handling – not just ‘a bit different’, but almost poles apart. This should give you some indication of what’s to come in the sheer diversity of the final roster. Each new car you use will offer the opportunity to re-learn how to race, how to drift and bring a completely new level of enjoyment to each track.
We hope you enjoy the purity of the racing experience in Inertial Drift, to revel in the high skill ceiling some of these cars have to offer. We’re really looking forward to seeing (and competing with!) your best times in Sunset Prologue and, as ever, we welcome your feedback in the community pages.
