Hey caravan crew! We’re back with news on Update v1.2, now on the Experimental Branch! We plan to leave this on Experimental for at least a week and see how the community reacts before pushing it to the Live branch. If you want to participate, please see our last blog post on using the Experimental Branch. Without further delay, Patch Info!!
Sanctuary Saga v1.2 Patch Notes
The v1.2 Build focused on adjustments to early game progression and reworked the Skill progression system. Full patch notes can be found here. We anticipate the Skill rework changes will allow players to ease into the main party since each player character will start with fewer skills. Hopefully, it will also encourage more varied party compositions as players match teammates for skill building in addition to their favorite battle set-up. This should help keep battles feeling fresh until such a time when enemies start to learn their own new tricks…
There are, of course, a few new QoL improvements and numerous bug fixes as well. Most notable: Expedition Maps will now show players where new paths have opened up. In addition, maps within Biomes will be flagged by the system so players will never see a repeat map until they have seen every map within the biome at least once. We’re hoping these two changes will help keep the players immersed in the world and minimize feel-bad moments while exploring the Wilds!
Please feel free to explore the changes and let us know what you think in the designated Discussion Thread!
Experimental Branch Save Files
A few reminders regarding save files in Sanctuary Saga: there is no method to switch save files back and forth between versions. So if you choose to participate in Experimental, I would recommend either copying your save to a different Save Slot or assign a certain range of your Save Slots to a specific version of the game. For example, you may decide to designate Save Slots 11-15 for playing on the Experimental branch to help with testing, while leaving slots 1-10 dedicated to the Live branch for your prior saves. While technically the files may work with multiple versions, they won’t always get the updated values (gear costs, skill upgrades, etc). So we recommend designating certain Save Slots to specific game versions.
Again, we are so grateful for the growing community around Sanctuary Saga and could not be more thankful to those of you along the journey with us! If you haven’t, please consider leaving a review of Sanctuary Saga on Steam (this is massively beneficial to Indie Developers) and sharing out news on your socials. Until next time!
