Updates about Senseless

[p]Hello players, I am still very grateful for all your wishlists on Senseless! I have returned I am sorry that I couldn't continue to work on Senseless, the project grew out of proportions and scope creep ate me up. Additionally, work, health issues and my mental state took a toll too, so I wasn't able to focus on this game. Sorry about that folks. Now, realistically I am not giving up on Senseless, especially since the Demo of Senseless coincided with the release of Animal Well which also did very good. That inspired me to know that people love this genre of games, where they have retro elements. I believe I can be a better developer by trying to make a game that I can also finish as a solo dev. I make everything myself and I really love the process, but I have to be realistic. This year I started a new project[/p][p][dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3871180/One_more_gem"][/dynamiclink]It's a puzzle game that I am pretty close to finish, if you think you'd like such a game, please consider playing and wishlisting, but that is not the main reason I am sharing it. What does this mean about Senseless? Well, this project helped me learn a lot about making a game, because making games is not about graphics or programming, it is about managing difficulties and blockers that you never fought before, like bosses in a game, you never know the next move, so you keep grinding the fight to understand it's moves. That is essentially what One More Gem is for me, a mini boss that I managed to beat. I have learned a lot from it. With that I will return to Senseless when I have a better idea of how to finish the game and deliver a good game. Horror, pixel art, psychological horror, platformer. Those are the tags selected for the game, yet I realized that I can make a better, more interesting game with less, rather than having 80 levels devoid of content (although I wish I could have a bigger team to make 80 levels <3 , but I have to be realistic with my scope). Even though my focus is on One More Gem while I finish it, each day I think about what I can make to turn Senseless into reality. [/p][p]The original game was set to have around 7 worlds you can explore and play around in, each of them needed to feature creatures and bosses and fights, but in the same time, the movement system was not that compatible with fighting. It was ok, but it didn't feel good, so I need some change that makes sense for the game. My friends gave me some interesting ideas which would make a lot of sense for Senseless as a world rather than a game, making exploration and having fun with the map more than just a retro platformer, while it might sound like scope creep it would actually reduce the scope so it is more realistic to finish. Afterall there are five main bosses you have to tackle, they have to make sense. If you read to this point, thank you very much for all your support, you inspired me a lot! Please let me know what you think in the comment. Much retro love, Cosmin.[/p][p][/p]
