Today, we are lifting the veil of secrecy over the game’s development process and will share a few words on what is happening behind the key feature of HellFlame — the physics system that controls all the in-game objects. It all started with us not wanting to just make another regular title. Instead of the conventional approach to game development, we decided to take our project in a rather unusual direction by investing our effort, resources, and time into a new technology that we believe can deepen the game experience and serve as the basis for many fresh and unique gaming moments. That is what we did — we developed one of the most scalable and accurate physics systems to date and called it MAPSFY, an expansive and accurate physics engine. (Share your thoughts as to what the full acronym might stand for in the comments below! 🙂) MAPSFY is able to calculate and simultaneously display an incredible number of 10,000 3D models within a single scene, all with seamless and smooth processing on virtually any device. This system forms the basis for our new game, HellFlame — an arena bullet heaven where, thanks to the aforementioned tech, all objects can physically interact with each other, and the enemies literally react to your every move. Imagine that you are locked in a small area with hundreds of demons coming to get you from all sides. You are free to use and combine up to 6 weapons at once, putting together an arsenal that would help you deal with foes in the most effective and spectacular way possible: chop fiends with swords, pierce them with stakes, or watch monsters fall in droves from your blows, collide, try to get up and rush into battle again, or go flying straight down into the abyss. Use elemental features and other objects scattered around the arena to your advantage: set enemies on fire or extinguish them, blast them with lightning or freeze their hides, turning demons into ice chunks that easily break into tiny pieces. Efficiency, spectacle, scale and, of course, the pleasure of battle itself — that is what we aim to achieve!
