Today it's time for a story of how Marcin came up with the idea to make games about the legendary Slovakian Highlander, Janosik!
A Page From the Dev Diary #2
Now that my game is out, I’d like to take a moment to reminisce about how it all started. You already know who Janosik is and what to expect from the game. But let me tell you, in true Drax fashion, “Why is Janosik?”
Janosik is a prominent character in Slavic culture, especially in Poland. I’m sure if you asked any Polish person who Janosik is, 99% would know. There have been tons of TV shows and movies about the legendary “Harnaś” and his adventures, but until a few years ago, he was missing from the gaming world.

The idea to make a game about Janosik came to me when I read the legend of the three witches who gave him magical artifacts: one granted him superhuman strength, another gave him a shirt that could deflect bullets, and the third a shepherd’s axe that let him leap miles. Sounds like a perfect upgrade system for a video game, right?
And so, I got to work. Bringing Janosik to life in two games now has been a wild ride, and I can only hope it sparks the same sense of wonder I felt when I first heard his story.
Thank you for all the support, and remember - if you like my game, please consider sharing it with your friends and leaving a positive review to make sure Janosik 2 reaches as many players as possible!
