Train World Driver's Latest Developments
Hello, Engineers!
I’ve been hard at work behind the scenes to bring you exciting updates for Train World Driver, and I’m thrilled to share my progress!
🚂 Mission Editor
I’ve developed a basic Mission Editor by introducing an additional game mode to Train World. This is a significant milestone as it allows me to create and test missions effectively. In the future, this feature will be available for all players, letting you design and share your own missions! You can now also change eras within the Mission Editor. This means you can alter the appearance of cities and objects to reflect any era, from the steam-powered charm of the first era to modern high-speed rail. Imagine converting a well-developed rail network back to the first era to create thrilling steam locomotive missions! I’m planning to add a cargo/passenger manager, enabling players to control what is transported by the mission train. Stay tuned for more details!
🖱 Input System Update
I’ve revamped the input system by introducing a second action map for Train World Driver. This includes all necessary UI updates, allowing players to have separate key bindings for Train World and Train World Driver for a smoother experience.
🚦Train Movement, Speed Controls, and Signals
[olist] [*]Train movement and speed controls have been fine-tuned to ensure power and brake controls are responsive and intuitive while keeping the controls simple with forward movement only. [*]Signals in Train World Driver have received a big upgrade! They now behave as they should for the player's train, providing crucial occupation and navigation logic in advance to ensure seamless gameplay. [/olist]
📋UI Enhancements
The route display panel (bottom-right) has undergone a significant transformation. The scale is now non-linear, offering much more information at a glance. Important details like when to brake or increase power are now easily interpreted. This update ensures smoother and safer operations!
🛠 What’s Next?
While a lot has been accomplished, there’s still more to do! Your support and feedback will be invaluable as I refine these features. I’m working hard toward a beta test and can’t wait to hear your thoughts when the time comes. Thank you for being a part of the Train World Driver journey. Let’s keep building something amazing together! Stay on track, Dmytro
