Dive into Simuverse Interactive's new public transport simulation! SubwaySim 2 allows you to explore not only the underground network of Hamburg but now also that of the German capital Berlin! Choose various unique scenarios and transport your passengers safely from station to station.
As the buzz around Gamescom is gradually settling, today is the perfect time for our first more detailed update post! From now on, we plan to give you insights into the current state of development on a regular basis. We will be sharing new impressions and information about SubwaySim 2 every week.
First things first: What can you expect in SubwaySim 2? In addition to many new features that we’ll introduce to you in the upcoming posts, you’ll be able to explore an entirely new network of routes in SubwaySim 2. We’re heading to Berlin - and specifically, to the Kleinprofil (small profile) of the Berlin U-Bahn, which is remarkable due to its narrow tunnels.

This time, you’ll have the opportunity to explore two lines at once. We’re starting with line U1, which has a length of 9.0 km and a total of 13 stations. The line runs from the S-Bahn station Warschauer Straße through Kreuzberg to its terminus at Uhlandstraße, located beneath the famous Berlin Kurfürstendamm shopping avenue. Additionally, SubwaySim 2 includes the U3, which shares the section from Warschauer Straße to Wittenbergplatz with U1, before branching off to the suburbs around Krumme Lanke. The total length of the U3 is 19.7 km, and it has 24 stations in total (including the U1 section).

What’s great about the U1 and U3 lines is their variety. The routes begin with elevated sections running right through the heart of Berlin before diving underground after the Gleisdreieck station. But of course, there’s also plenty to see from the suburbs.

Many stations along this route have historical peculiarities. The best example is the three-storey Nollendorfplatz station, which connects all four lines of the Kleinprofil, or Wittenbergplatz station with its complex switch halls before and after the station. Along the route, you’ll encounter numerous passionately recreated landmarks and points of interest, which we’ll explore further in the coming weeks.
