The Heavy Metal Update
New Levels
Bana Simulator has gained 5 new levels, each introducing new mechanics and incredible challenges, mechanics, and enemies. No full island was added in this update, but a small side-island off the coast of Isla Bana. The Spear Island off the coast of Isla Bana happened to have this lost weapon the Alchemist was working on. Shoot the targets and tread carefully because the enemies here are lethal.

Exploding Spears,
Spear Dashers,
Coconuts,
Sporb,
Sporborb,
Explorb
just for a little taste.
Palm Trees
The aforementioned coconuts do not spawn ordinarily but are summoned by Palm Trees. Every minute palm trees spawn a cluster of 3-5 coconuts. Although they are not significantly stronger than normal enemies, the coconuts can deal incredible damage in clusters. [olist]
Plank Armor

+1 Defense

Stone/Brick Armor

+2 Defense
+1 Attack

Copper Armor

+3 Defense
+1 Attack

Cobalt Armor

+4 Defense
+2 Attack

Gold Armor

+5 Defense
+2 Attack
+2 Health

Shadow Armor

+7 Defense
+4 Attack
+4 Health
[/olist]
Visual Improvements

Damage Indicators
From RPGs like Final Fantasy to sandboxes like Terraria, almost every game out there has damage indicators to give players a sense of just how powerful their weapons are, and some players have had a tough time choosing weapons, so we added damage indicators to Bana Simulator!
New Lighting Effects
New VFX have been added to enemy lasers, sunlight, weapons, and more! These effects have made the Bana Beam's special attack so much more satisfying to use...
Supreme Spear Bossfight
Some of you may remember this guy from the really early days of Bana Simulator and will be happy to find out it has returned along with a *much* better weapon reward. No spoilers, but there's quite a few attacks here. Wow this is quite a username, Urmomissus, who submitted their entry on the first day of the competition. We should be getting their customized weapon in the next patch.
QOL Changes
Changed current save slots to "Rollback Slots" and added a system of 3 save files. With this we also introduced backup save files, to prevent the tragic loss of a Bana that many players have experienced.
Hardcore
The classic Permadeath game mode has found its way into Bana Simulator. Dying during the campaign will erase the players save file, excluding Endless Mode games on record, obtained skins, and Banacoin. Dying during endless mode will have no effect, despite being permadeath mode.
New Title Screen
The title screen has been redesigned for a dark theme and the Simulator text now gives the "neon" effect shown in the trailer. New animations for navigating in menus and the title screen have been added for a smoother experience.
Reworked Loading Screen
The old grey screen with a loading bar was always temporary (and excruciatingly boring), so we made a permanent loading screen with an animation and a fun background. To make the animation less laggy, saving has been threaded (fancy computer science words) so it runs very smoothly.
