Howdy settlers! Posey here with one meaty update! That is right! Episode 02 in the flesh...well code...is ready for you to dive in and experience a pretty fun platforming episode testing out our base platform controls and mechanics before we go nuts with them. There is a ton of bugs and little glips in the game as solving those will take lots of time and we will be refining them as we continue to create content for the game. But the demo plays from start to finish and is pretty fun :D
Demo updates:
-Optimized quest engine and scene manager even more! -Added an updated character controller to begin working within our physics engine. -One whole complete new episode with new quests, characters and even more story to find out. -2 new rip roaring music tracks Cyber Fog and Digital Misama. -Lots of cool new visual effects and art work to make this game look so pro. -Updated main menu system to prepare for our menu update coming soon.
Known Bugs
-Pause menu only works with gamepad input, still no escape key / if you go back to main menu gamepad nav ceases to work / if you start simulation, it goes to a black screen and plays the SALI background noise, that's pretty much it - Pause Menu: going back to Main Menu then selecting Start Simulation causes some systems to overlap (i.e. opening dialogue will start playing on main menu screen, quest HUD still visible when going back to main menu during "A Log Rhythm" quest, ground plane does not load sometimes making character fall forever, etc.) Recommend quitting app completely if you want to replay the level. - Mouse controls: there is a disparity between the look sensitivity using the mouse vs using the gamepad. Due to this and a variety of other issues revolving around dynamically switching input devices, we have decided to make it gamepad exclusive and remove mouse/keyboard controls. - Some camera movements not functioning optimally. -Lots of camera collision issues with environment assets, needs a good bit of refining.
Works In Progress
-Character Controller needs months more of work to be perfect -Menu Redesign -In Game Bug/Dev Log -Credits -Bounce Pads as they are dependent on the character controller -Save System -Episode 02 Achievements -Beta Prologue Episode 01 -Audio Manager (To control music and sound volume. Sorry they are blasting atm) -Input Manager -Time Manager -Scene Manager -Render Pipeline Okie Dokie! Now go update the demo and see all the cool things and stay tuned because the second title in the prologue adventures The Beta Prologue is coming soon in time for Next Fest in Feb!!!
