Night of the Shrub Part 1 is a short, visual novel, with a single storyline full of October surprises - A boy named Shrub, and his three friends, go looking for adventure in a creepy, abandoned house, and find a whole heap of odd happenings.
The town of Clabberton was founded by General M. A. D. Clabber in 1789. The town's original name was Fort Clabber, but during the war of 1812 absolutely no one, on either side, paid any attention to it, so the "Fort" part was taken off the front and a "Town" part put on the back. Clabber Town lasted until 1903, when its one and only mention in a New York newspaper printed its name as Clabberton. This name caught on for some reason (possibly because the folk figured a New York newspaper knew what was best) and in a few short months all the signs were changed – though it is said that somewhere down Drab Dairy Road a "Clabber Town" sign still exists, maybe near the old buckeye tree named Wilford.
