It has been around 7 years since we have been set on the journey to create independent game, and our first love was Subterrain 1. Since then, we have tried our best to keep going and create game with passion, no matter what the game was. Now, we are very excited to make an announcement that Subterrain 2 is in development and show you the first glimpse of the game. Subterrain 2 is in a nutshell, a sci-fi RPG. It is different to Subterrain 1 yet shares many similar game play elements. The most difference is that the game is now semi top-down turn based instead of real-time top down shooter. It was the decision that we made with no light heart, but the main reason for it was the following: 1. Expand the world of Subterrain universe through more enriched Story and NPC interaction. 2. Character development progression. Deeper survival elements. 3. More tactical combat. More variations of everything! 4. Less grinding! Now that for those of you who were expecting almost the same game as Subterrain 1 may be disappointed, but after trying the former ( yes! we did try ) we felt that the top down action shooter was really not suitable for the goals we have set. Another important goal for the Subterrain 2 is that although having random map and replaying the game many times over is a good value, we found that majority of the players only played through the game once and the game was unnecessary long. Especially grinding part and sudden boss introduction was something that we wanted to avoid. We thought that having a solid good experience of 20 or so game play hours is more important than providing 100 hours of lesser remembering experience. So here we are. No matter what happens next, we will try our best to get through to the end. And with your support, we can get there so much better.
