Scythe transports you to an alternate reality in 1920s Europa, one ravaged by the First World War. Take up the role of leader by assuming command of one of 5 factions, and set out to conquer the coveted "Factory". Lead your mechs to war and your people to victory!
A long time ago, we announced the start of work on the Scythe: Digital Edition code refactor and the creation of two DLCs. We've been silent since then (not counting patch notes, minor updates and community support), but today, we would like to summarize how the work on Scythe looked like and what the game's future is.
Refactor and DLCs status
Renewing Scythe: Digital Edition has proven to be impossible at this time. Two different teams of veterans took on the project and admitted that the entire game had to be rewritten. This is a years-long task that needs to start from scratch - it exceeded our financial capabilities. We embarked on the journey of creating Scythe seven years ago, when we lacked experience. Today, with the knowledge we've gained, if we were to create the game anew, our approach would be entirely different.
As you know a global pandemic and a market crisis began. We were looking for publishers willing to invest in Scythe: Digital Edition, but unfortunately, there were no willing ones. As a result, all our previous efforts were wasted. The airships have been created, but they will not take off because the current version of the game cannot support them. Scythe: Digital Edition will not receive any major changes or announced DLCs in the near future.

We are genuinely sorry for letting you down on this matter - we were unaware of a huge problem the game code base has had since it was developed in 2015-2016. Development of DLCs is impossible to take, and as we said above, we have to halt it.
What does this mean for you, players?
The game is not abandoned and will continue to be maintained. We will keep trying to find another solution, and if there is a space and the appropriate circumstances to return to work on the Scythe DLCs - we will be more than happy to do it!
You don't have to worry about the servers because the Factory will continue to work at full capacity. As soon as we resume work, we will inform you immediately so as not to keep you in suspense for as long as it is now. We want you to know that we are open to all possibilities and are looking for various opportunities to further develop Scythe: Digital Edition.
Finally, thank you for being with us and sticking with us. Don't go anywhere and stay, because this is definitely not the end.
