Howdy, Rancherssssss!
Welcome to the Ssssssslithering Digessssssst! A sort of "newssssssletter" or something similar, to get more into the world of Scaling Up and what it is all about!
For those who came here from our other game, Crafty Survivors, think about this as the Daily Newton that sometimes pops up in the Community Hub (you can see the similarities in the artwork as well), with a bit more of information about the game's features before the release. We want to bring more about the game to you all, so you can have a better idea of what to expect with Scaling Up.
So today let's start talking about some of the features of Scaling Up.
Building Facilities
With the Side menu, players will be able to choose the facilities they want or need to build on their ranch to start their operations, as long as they have the appropriate resources to build one. There is a variety of facilities to choose, each housing different types of snakes that either need to be cared for or can help in the ranch's activities.
Upon choosing the desired building, players can position it anywhere they want, as long as the space allows for it and right click to command the Dragon to start construction. The Dragon is the only entity in-game that can build facilities.

Don't worry about the placement though, as all buildings can be moved around as long as there's a space open for it.
Upgrade Facilities
Most buildings have a few Tiers of upgrade that will unlock more space to house more snakes. These upgrades require some materials and the Dragon must be sent to start construction after the upgrade is started. The Dragon is the only entity in-game that can upgrade facilities.
Gathering Resources
There are several resources to be gathered in Scaling Up. Some of the base initial resources can be found around the Ranch, as players will need to clean up the area to open up space to build more facilities, gaining some materials in the process.

Certain buildings and researches will require other materials that can't be found in the ranch, so players will be able to do Expeditions on different areas to acquire those resources. We will talk more about Expeditions in another Digest.
Snake Store
Each building in the game (aside from the Dragon's Nest) can house a certain category of Snake and a different number of Snakes from said category. After constructing a new facility, players will have access to their Snake Store and they will be able to add a new Snake to the building using the in-game resources.

There is a big variety of Snakes, each with their own Scales to collect and use as building/research materials, and specific attributes that might allow them to perform tasks at unique places or under certain conditions. We will dive more into the different categories and some of the unique Snakes in another Digest.
Assign Snakes to Automate Tasks
With more tasks to be done and just the Dragon to do them, worker Snakes will be an asset to assist with many of the various jobs around the ranch, aside from building and upgrading facilities. From gathering resources to forging equipments, Snakes are there to help with a lot of tasks and gift the player with their beautiful scales as long as they are properly fed.
Speed Up and Pause
At the bottom right of the screen, players will have access to some control options that allow them to speed up the game when desired, if they want things to go a bit faster. There will be multiple options of speed to fit different needs.

Players can also pause the time in order to plan next steps or any other reasons they have.
Zoom In and Zoom Out
Need to zoom out to take a better look and plan further the position of facilities? Or zoom in on a specific part to watch the work done by the Dragon or the Snakes? Next to the speed controls, 2 buttons will allow players to change the distance of the camera to a few fixed sizes (they need to be fixed in order to keep the graphics of the game from breaking).

This is all for the Sssssslithering Digesssst today!
Until the next one!
