“Shio” is a challenging platformer game in which you deep and moving story by jumping from lantern to lantern. If you are big fan of Super Meat Boy, you will like Shio as well!

Hey everyone! My name is Gao and I’m one of the developers of “Shio”. We received tons of feedback from you and we would like to thank you for that and for your support! We are working overtime to polish “Shio” as much as we can. We will use small but frequent patches to add all feedback from you. In this small update we will optimize UI and fix awkward BUGs. Update version 1.0.3 will have: 1. Added save notification; 2. Added BOSS stage notification; 3. Fixed BUG when after reaching firs checkpoint on chapter 4 and after restart, game will start from Chapter 3; 4. Fixed BUG with little kid, when players weren’t able to lose race; 5. Fixed BUG when players weren’t able to pause the game; 6. Fixed BUG on the BOSS stage, where players weren’t able to start game from saved point; 7. Fixed an issue where some Antivirus software were blocking game; 8. Fixed BUG with cracked platform, sometimes was indestructible; 9. Fixed BUG when players were stuck on moving platforms; 10. Fixed BUGs with localizations; 11. Fixed other small issues. We receiving many suggestions about level design, we are carefully listened for those feedback. We will fix other BUGs, and at the same time we will work on more level design aspects. But it will take some time, so, please be patient. Now I want to share with you our plans for “Shio” v1.1. This is not our last plan, because we are listen to our community and trying to adapt for it, so we are aware about what you thinking. First of all, we are receiving a lot of feedback about game difficulty. Many players saying that the game is too hard! At the same time, we are receiving messages which telling us that difficulty is at the sweet spot. But we have to admit, that game is not that friendly for most of the players. After internal discussion, we decided to make new set of level with low difficulty, that way players can experience game more smoothly. But this will need a lot of time to make. Second of all, we found out that on some levels are not well polished, and we were using some similar parts from other levels to increase difficulty. We decided to spend some time and work on this stages again, so that way, players will experience more new stuff. And the last, but not least. We all watching live streamers and how they play, we figure out that on most levels, there is no way for them to stop and rest. Game always throw more challenges against players and this is a bit tiring. We will rework game pacing and level design. Of course, beside this few changes we are working on many more level design and game adjustments. You will see them all in our 1.1 version of the game! Peter Ge 2017.5.9
