Retro City Rampage follow-up Shakedown: Hawaii finally has a release date

Shakedown: Hawaii

Build a "legitimate" corporation via open world missions, shakedowns, sabotage and property acquisition.

Developer Vblank Entertainment has announced that Shakedown: Hawaii, its long-awaited Retro City Rampage follow-up, will be coming to Switch, PlayStation 4, Vita, and PC on 7th May.

Shakedown: Hawaii, which was initially due to launch in April 2017, picks up the action 30 years after the events of Retro City Rampage, rejoining that game's protagonist (now a big-shot CEO, rather than a small-time crook), for more open-world shenanigans - albeit ones that trade the original game's 8-bit trappings for more of a 16-bit flair.

There's more to the experience than a mere visual upgrade, however; corporate domination is the name of the game this time around, as players complete missions and indulge in "property acquisition, shakedowns, sabotage, market manipulation and collateral 're-zoning'". And there's a lot more ground to cover too, with the new map - incorporating the city, suburbs, beaches, farms, parks, and even jungle - supposedly four times bigger than its predecessor.
