New MMORPG Ship of Heroes will launch in Q2 2025! Many parts of the game are working and integrated and launch-ready now, so we’re fairly confident about this date. Right now, we’re fixing bugs and filling in the last gaps, which should take 4-6 months. And SoH already includes some exciting features that many modern MMORPGs lack.
Ship of Heroes is a PVE superhero sci-fi MMORPG set in the far future, aboard a generation ship called the FHS Justice, home to Apotheosis City. The future is bright; humans and friendly aliens have superpowers, advanced technology, and magic. But many dangers lurk in the shadows, and the Justice needs heroes to face them.

Create your own, unique hero to play, and write a personal backstory that other heroes can read. Make friends – and enemies – among the many voiced characters aboard the ship. Play solo or join teams right from the beginning; even at level 1, you can make a difference on high-level superhero teams and in major raids. Select a handful of powers to rely on out of hundreds, then customize their effects with complex augments. Craft, buy, and sell powerful items in the auction house. Design your own plush superhero lair, then invite your friends over.

Five Archetypes, Hundreds of Powers, Ten Character Slots
Ship of Heroes has five archetypes at launch, plus plans for more later. Each archetype has varied powersets and specific powers. These include unusual combinations of damage at different ranges, defensive powers, healing, buffing, debuffing, pets, mez/status effects, and more. Every hero has the potential to be good at 2 or even 3 things at once. So, it’d be hard to excel in every area, but you’re never locked into a narrow combat role unless you choose to be. And you can create up to ten characters to experiment with different builds.

Tankers take hits for the team by using their melee powers to taunt enemies into attacking them instead of their more fragile teammates. Tankers have offensive powersets and secondary powersets. They do moderate damage and are very tough.

Brawlers wade into fights and deal large amounts of melee damage to groups of enemies. Brawlers have offensive primaries and defensive secondaries, the reverse of Tanks. They do high damage and are moderately tough.

Devastators launch powerful range attacks at enemies while remaining out of range of enemy retribution. Devastators have offensive primaries and support secondaries. They do the highest damage and have moderately effective buffs designed to give them the ability to survive short but very intense fights.

Support characters are quite varied: they heal and buff their teammates from a distance, keeping themselves out of range of powerful enemies. Support characters have support primaries and offensive secondaries. They do moderate damage and are excellent at making their allies more powerful, keeping a team alive.

Controllers specialize in controlling and manipulating those around them through mesmerization, stuns and other mechanisms. Controller powers are control and status effects, different from the powers of other archetypes.
Locking down a horde of bad guys with a Controller can be very satisfying!
Power Augments – Better than Gear
In total, different heroes can access over 250 powers. The powers you choose to prioritize can each have up to 7 augments, which can affect that power, other powers, and even give passive boosts for an infinite variety of playstyles.
Everyone Gets Flight and Superspeed from Day 1
Part of this flexibility is mobility. You can fly anywhere, without relying on mounts or time-limited jetpacks, and run at incredible speeds. And all of these powers are designed to be used in combat. Even some enemies have adapted to heroes’ mobility, whether by flying themselves, or getting long-range weapons, or simply by knocking heroes out of the sky.

Keep an eye out for distant battles
Create Your Unique Look Independent of Archetype, Powers, or Level
Have you ever made a cool character, only to lose that look for the only armor with the highest stats? The Ship of Heroes character creator offers an impressive array of cosmetic customizations, letting you “mix and match” costumes in a variety of colors, styles, and body shapes. Your looks are not limited by your archetype, powers, or level, so you have complete design freedom.

Express your artistic side, then show it off in a big, beautiful city!

At launch, Ship of Heroes will have story-focused missions, challenge missions, task forces designed for teams of heroes, and big raids, all tested by veteran heroes. So, if you find a way to turn yourself inside-out by jumping into the water, take pride – that’s a real accomplishment!

A Complex and Evolving World
Influence far-ranging events in a complex world where the voiced NPCs change, learn, and pursue their own goals as you get further in, just like you do. Your journey will take you to many exciting locations, and even to other planets!
Play with your Friends or Make New Ones, or Try the Hardest Content Solo…If You Dare
Teaming and raiding are incredibly flexible, but neither is required for progression. There’s no minimum team size, and up to ten heroes can team up to do most missions in the game. Raids can handle – and benefit from having – multiple teams. And the difficulty and rewards generally scale to keep things fun across very different group sizes and levels.

Some bosses can launch you into another city block, so be careful. Or don’t…
Finding other players at the right level to join you will never be an issue again with our sidekicking system. When you join a team, your level is automatically raised to one level below the team leader’s until you leave. Or you can join inexperienced teams as a mentor, and you’ll automatically “hold back” by fighting at just above the team leader’s level.
Seasonal Content
We will have seasonal activities for at least for Halloween and Christmas, and perhaps other times of the year in the future.

Deck the halls, or deck your foes? Why not both?
A Big Thank You to our Supporters
To all our supporters, we’re thankful for your patience, and for the support and advice you’ve given us on the way to this point. We all hope to see you in-game when we launch.
Help Spread the Word about Ship of Heroes
Ship of Heroes is an ambitious project for an indie team of our size. We lack the AAA resources to simply buy tons of visibility. You can help Ship of Heroes succeed by wishlisting it to give us more exposure on Steam, and by letting people in your network know about us. Every dollar we do not have to spend on promotion is a dollar that expands the game just a little bit more.
We will have a technical test next year, during which players will be able to sample Ship of Heroes and help us stress-test our server setup. Until then, you can join our testing team under NDA and tell us what you think to help us improve the game. We’re very responsive to feedback.
Launch is only the beginning. We plan to steadily expand the game with new stories, new challenges, new foes, and new worlds. A galaxy of adventures awaits!
