Railway Empire 2 - Hotfix for Update 1.0.3
Tycoons,
We have just released a Hotfix for Update 1.0.3, which readjusted and fixed the priority of delivering wares and we wanted to share some additional insights with you all.
The issues noticed were mainly related to the calculation of priority in the underlying code and now that it is fixed we wanted to take a moment to elaborate on how it is decided which good goes where and why first.
At the start of their journey, the following is considered for the wares:
The assessment is based on the nearest city that has a demand for the goods, whose import storage is not full and can be reached by the current city.
Already declared goods in the cities and goods consumed during the scheduled travel time are also taken into account.
The priority of cities in need of goods is decided via 2 factors:
[olist]
[*]The most important factor is the distance the goods would need to travel to reach their target. This refers to the length of the rail connecting the starting point and goal, not the direct distance. For reference: the length of a station is 200 meters.
[*]In case this distance is similiar in length, the amount of times the goods would have to change trains is also taken into account. The higher this number is, the lower the priority of the city. [/olist]
Based on this, the following Formula applies:
1 – D / 5000 – U / 10
D = Distance in meters to the destination, counting the length of the tracks leading there, not their actual distance
U = Amount of track changes that would be needed, due to warehouses and goods changing trains
With this formula/prioritization for prioritization laid out, the goods would be delivered to each city, until the storage of the city is full and then proceed to reserve goods for the next city in the priority line.
To summarize, this means that, the closer the city expecting the goods is to the warehouse and the more direct the connection is without warehouses, the more priority is given. The distance value is the most important.
In case there is still something that you think is working incorrectly about the warehouses after the update, please report it to us in the Bug-Report Subforum, so we can have a closer look at it!
