Tomorrow is release day. The team and I are excited and we hope you enjoy it. We spent quite a bit of time getting this all together in the middle of all of life's ups and downs this past year.
109 was originally born out of a desire to create something akin to an interactive storybook that would try to encourage the player to explore. Through exploration the player will unravel a story about a great tragedy that happened in the past. This story is told through a series of text logs that are dated and time coded and will require organization after being collected in the game to put the whole story together.
109 Remastered is an effort to update the game a bit and try to truly deliver on what the original failed to do. This time around we've given the player a special probe to scan large areas that are far away. A special menu has been built that allows better visibility of recovered text logs and the games text log archive been made available for easier organizational purposes if players want to go digging into the game files. Additionally, the players ship has been given lateral control allowing for a full 6DoF experience. And to top it all off, original music was scored for the game with the mood and intent in mind.
At Blind Alien Studios we've got other projects going on, and we're really looking forward to showing them off. One of which I am particularly excited about. But that will show soon enough.
Regardless of the projects going on in the background, 109 Remastered will continue to see updates as needed. We're a very small team so unless something really has us stumped, we try to address issues as quickly as possible. That being said we have an intention behind this game that we want to achieve, however if we're failing to communicate that, we have no problem looking at it and seeing if a redesign is in order. But we ask patience and understand as our resources and time is limited.
For now, we wish you all the best in the coming holidays, hope that you enjoy the game, and advise you fly safe!
