Patch #1 is live now!

Eye of Nollyn

The noir detective game where you can bribe people for puzzle hints.

Greetings, Detectives of Nollyn. This is Slater Chae, developer of "Eye of Nollyn". After a long wait, Patch #1 for the game is now live, featuring an unreleased past life of Vin Virosa, the Private Eye of Nollyn, a Demo version of the game, improved writings and production, and puzzle level balancing. To be completely frank, this update was never on the agenda. But with the amount of attention, love, and feedback from an unexpectedly large number of players the game's received for the last few months, I decided to give it one more chance to shine. Thank you all for your patience, and I apologize for the long wait. The updated content is as follows :

Bartender Jack now sells his drinks at much more affordable prices.
Jeremy now offers you a whole lot more surcharge, which you can still decline.
As many of you have suggested, I've decided to lower the price of Bartender Jack's drinks and increase Jeremy's surcharge. One of the best features and charms of Eye of Nollyn is the ability to buy off NPCs for additional clues to help solve challenging puzzles. I suspect this is why many players progress through the game without ordering a single drink from Bartender Jack – to save their budget for more challenging puzzles later on. Conversations with Bartender Jack were crafted with care, as he's like an old friend to Vin Virosa, who's known him since before becoming a private investigator. They offer a glimpse into life in Nollyn and Vin Virosa's past, and skipping them would be a waste. That's exactly why I decided to reduce the price of his drinks, so more of you can enjoy a relaxing chat with him.

A new item has been added to the game. It will be automatically collected when you begin the first chapter.
In Chapter 2, the conversation between Bartender Jack and Vin Virosa that appears once you decide to buy the drink has been modified.
In Chapter 2, the conversation between Sullivan and Vin Virosa has been modified.
In Chapter 3, the conversation between Katherine and Vin Virosa that appears once the case is closed has been modified.
In Chapter 4, a whole new conversation between "The Suspect" and Vin Virosa has been added to the game. The conversation will be presented to you right before leaving the cathedral.
The update introduces a glimpse into the backstory of Nollyn's private eye, Vin Virosa. One of the areas we wanted to improve from the previous version was to better express the depth of Vin Virosa's character. With this update, players will have the opportunity to uncover Vin Virosa's life before he became a detective and understand how his past experiences have shaped him into the person he is today.

The interior designs of Ben Carter's office and Adam's laboratory have been modified.
The interior design for Adam's bedroom has been modified. You can now find a letter someone has sent him.
The evidence presented in Chapter 5 (inside Adam's laboratory) has been modified.
The description for the item "Lab Investigation Record" has been modified.
The puzzles appearing in Chapter 6 have been modified.
In short, the puzzles appearing in Chapter 6 are now a bit more challenging than before. Admittedly, adjusting the difficulty of puzzles is always a challenging endeavor, given its subjective nature. However, a great number of players were able to solve the puzzles appearing in Chapter 6 effortlessly, and thus I've decided to tweak the difficulty of these questions after much deliberation. All puzzles in Eye of Nollyn were designed with a motto in mind: "Anyone should be able to solve them in 30 minutes, and no one should be able to solve them in 3 seconds each." If any of those who have played the game feel that the changes in the puzzles' difficulty were unreasonable, adjustments will be made accordingly. (ETC)

In Chapter 4, Vin Virosa now provides a more concise and clear explanation when you solve the puzzles.
In the Epilogue, Ben Carter now provides a better explanation of what exactly happened in Adam's laboratory.
In the Epilogue, a special screen will appear during the conversation with the Magician.
Illustrations of main protagonists "(Vin Virosa, Katherine, and the Magician)" have been remastered.
Thank you all for playing Eye of Nollyn. As always, all feedback and support in any form you provide is greatly appreciated.
