Patch 1 is LIVE!

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption is a humorous fantasy role-playing adventure game by Lori and Corey Cole, creators of the acclaimed Quest for Glory series. As the Rogue Shawn O'Conner, players will make friends, explore a haunted castle, and use their Rogue skills for fun and profit.

We've pushed a major update we're calling "Patch 1." Through the magic of Steam, all players will automatically get it. Anyone who switched to the beta version of the game to help us test this patch - currently it's the same as default/Live, but if you don't feel adventurous, you might want to "opt out of all betas" for now. That way you won't be surprised by a future update. The major reason for this patch is to fix a problem some players have experienced with Shawn's movement being "wonky." He would appear to walk in place, then rapidly move a short distance, then walk in place again. We previously suggested a work-around involving setting monitors to 60 Hz and/or disabling GSync. Those work-arounds should no longer be necessary. However, that is far from the only update. We have fixed dozens of bugs and exploits (leaving a few in for fun). We've also made a number of small corrections to graphics and text. Per player request, we have slowed the passage of time while moving by about one-third. Actions still take the same amount of time, and time is an important and limited game resource. Known bugs/issues: 1. It has been reported that the Bossa Nova achievement is impossible. We'll look into that and make sure it is fixed in the next patch. 2. The cinematics are still somewhat choppy and not up to the standard of the rest of the game. We're working on upgrading to a newer version of Unity that should allow us to improve movie quality. 3. There are a few minor graphics issues we haven't yet addressed. We'll continue to fix those, plus typos, etc. in future patches.
