Fellow Crewmates!
Today, we continue introducing the “Gundog” and her crew.
First, we’re excited to share a preview of another soundtrack:
Darkness And Deliberation
* The full version of the track will be available as part of the OST after the game releases.
Those who have played the demo will be very familiar with this track. It accompanies you when the Gundog experiences an unknown malfunction, causing a complete power outage. Here, we revisit the tense feeling of groping in the dark to find a way out.
Captain's Quarters
The Captain's Quarters, being a private space, are rarely accessed by anyone other than the captain. Although some officers use this space for discussions, consultations, and other informal meetings, Merys Bartermews, the captain of the Gundog, is clearly not one of them. Crew members seldom see her outside the bridge—or more accurately, they rarely see her at all, even on the bridge, as most duties are managed by the first mate.

The Captain's Quarters on the Gundog consist of a bedroom, bathroom, and office, which is a fairly standard configuration in the military, but it is much more luxurious compared to the rooms of other crew members. Captain Bartermews' room appears unremarkable: a star map of the Wooden Star Sector hangs on the wall, various documents are piled up, and a bottle of whiskey is always on the desk. Although alcohol is technically contraband on board, many captains secretly bring some aboard, one of the few privileges they enjoy.
Captain Merys Bartermews
Many captains enjoy recounting war stories from their past, but Captain Bartermews is the opposite. She rarely speaks of her past, almost like a fresh graduate from the officer academy. However, many crew members know that she survived the last war in its entirety.

Generally, surviving officers are a scarce resource after a war and are rarely assigned to lightweight, high-speed patrol ships like the Gundog. As for why Captain Bartermews has chosen to serve on the Gundog, only a few senior officials might know.
