Copy Editor is an intricate puzzle game that teaches you Regular Expressions (RegEx), commonly used in computer science and language theory. Build complex rules that process and revise famous texts for your wacky and demanding publisher!
Holy moly, you’re a clever bunch.
After some fantastic initial feedback, we’ve just published a quick update to Copy Editor to fix several bugs and implement some of your wonderful ideas.
Here’s what’s new in Copy Editor 0.6.5:

Much improved diff displays for whitespace chars (thank you Jared!)

Font sizes for both panels are now the same by default (thank you literally EVERYONE).

Holding control and scrolling now lets you control font-size individually for both panels. (thank you Leaving Leaves).

Hint images and indexes have been updated.

Tabs now scroll to the top (thank you Leaving Leaves)

page up/dwn works on level select/modals (thank you sam)

Text cursor issues when removing first char fixed (thanks sam and others)

Right clicking is now disabled.

Use the option/alt key toggle expansion of the currently selected input.

Previous solutions chars/rules were switched and diff issues were present when loading (thank you Leaving Leaves & sam)

Level 21 has been removed (it was not supposed to be included in the early access release - it was just a mocked up premise that leaked)

shit+tab or shift+enter now cycles backwards (thank you sam)

ctrl+n adds new rule

ctrl+m toggles matching for currently selected rule

ctrl+h hides current rule

ctrl+d deletes current rule

shift+rightarrow and shift+leftarrow toggles lower right pane

Random launch issues on ubuntu and windows through the steam library *should* now work? We believe the issue is fixed. Please let us know if you encounter anything like this. (thank you Jared and Benedict)

Thank you again to everyone who has left feedback, we can’t tell you how helpful and valuable it’s been. If you don’t see your feedback addressed here, it might be something we’re still working on and will implement soon, but feel free to keep bugging us about it - again, we truly like and appreciate it.
Of course, we’ll keep patching as we continue to build Copy Editor out. Let us know what you think, if there’s any issues, and have fun!
