New & Improved Demo!

Hi everyone! We’re very pleased to announce that a new demo is available now for Fangtopia! We will also be participating in the Steam Scream Fest starting October 28th. Here’s a rundown of some of the changes you can expect to see in the new demo… New-style Monster Tiles Monster tiles have been revamped in a couple of key ways. Each monster type now has its own distinct pattern that can be previewed before placing them. Not only does this make it clearer what will happen when placing monster tiles, it enhances what they bring to the tile-laying puzzle. Monsters now also animate more while on their group of tiles, helping bring your spooky worlds to life. Ghost Trains You’ll now be able to create spectral rail networks to connect your world! We spoke about ghost trains in a previous devlog, and since then have made some changes to how they work. We found having fixed directions for track tiles to be a little cumbersome and occasionally frustrating. To solve this, we made track tiles adaptive and removed the need for station and tunnel tiles. The result is something that we hope feels much more freeing and allows you to take more creative ownership of your world. Tutorial & Controls When you start playing the game you will no longer have a dialogue sequence with Viktor the Pumpkin King and instead be presented with some brief instructions on the rules of the game and the controls. Many players commented that it could be frustrating to have to go through Viktor’s dialogue each time they started a new game so we hope this change gets you into the action quicker and gives more useful information to help you get started. If you’re a new or returning player we’d love to hear what you think! The feedback we received on the old demo directly helped us make improvements in today’s new demo so please leave a comment if you have any thoughts. That’s all for now, and as always - stay spooky!
