Today, we are glad to inaugurate the beginning of a series of devlogs that we will post for Nevrosa: REscape, the rework of Nevrosa that will be released in 2025 for Meta Quest and Steam.

[h1][b]The works behind nerve-wracking puzzle[/b][/h1]
Building a puzzle is never easy. The designer must create an enigma that is challenging and fun while not frustrating the player too much. In short, the puzzle must be compelling and rewarding when solved! And while the puzzle itself is a lot of work, the tools to bring it to life is no small task either.
In today’s devlog, we are showcasing some work in progress for some of the new puzzles the team is developing for Nevrosa: REscape!
[h2][b]Start of a riddle[/b][/h2]

While the player finds himself in an unknown environment, there should be things that intrigue him and also puzzle him. How did this get here? How does it work? What am i supposed to do with it?
In this mechanism, we can see a "handle", lifting itself up (after one part of the puzzle is finished), sort of inviting the player to play around with it. At this moment, the player should be curious, what the lever does? The moment he grabs it, the player should receive "feedback". His actions created consequences! His next task, is to apply said consequences in solving the next riddle.

If the player interacts with simple shapes, it may become boring. We try to implement as many intricacies as possible.
While creating decorations, try not to make them too distracting from the main star of the show, but still, make them interesting enough, so the curious player can be left wondering: "How was it created? Must've been masterful craftsmanship." In some way, that is a compliment for every 3D Model Artist.

And last but not least, a hand connected to the device with four levers! Oooh, now how this puzzle should be solved? Perhaps a certain combination is required? But we have said too much already… the solution to this enigma will be something you will solve when [b]Nevrosa: REscape[/b] launches.
