Today, we'd like to share with you some intriguing aspects of this world, focusing on a peculiar phenomenon known as [b]Defilement[/b]. In the heart of our exploration, we’ve come to understand that Defilement is a kind of [b]mutation [/b]induced by the[b] influence of wild magic on matter[/b]. Whenever beings are exposed to this magic for an extended period, they undergo [b]extreme transformations[/b] or, sadly, [b]face death[/b]. However, we’ve witnessed that some life forms find remarkable ways to adapt and thrive in such curious conditions. Travelling through the land, we’ve learned about [i]leylines[/i], magical paths that crisscross the world, forming a natural network. Our world possesses a natural ability to [b]dilute magic[/b] to levels that living beings can handle. However, when this balance is disturbed, it can have [b]unexpected consequences[/b]. At certain places, particularly where several [i]leylines [/i]meet, the potential of an area to contain magic can be insufficient, causing magic to spill over and transform the surroundings. Such transformations are what we call [b]Defilement.[/b] We've encountered various instances of Defilement affecting[b] plants[/b], [b]animals[/b], and even [b]humans[/b]. In regions where wild magic is strong or sustained over time, plants and animals can merge into unique hybrids, showcasing features of both kingdoms. [b]Even peaceful creatures may become frenzied and hostile[/b], driven by an insanity that takes over their minds. As for predators, they evolve into [b]terrible beasts[/b], tormented by the pain brought on by their mutations. Humans aren't exempt from these changes, though their consciousness and skill in resisting wild magic can partly shield them from transformations. Unfortunately, once the mutations reaches a certain point, they often transform into [b]grotesque beings[/b], posing significant threats to ordinary folks residing in enclaves. Thus, our mission unfolds: [b]to protect townsfolk[/b] and eliminate the defiled beings that menace our populace. It’s an uphill battle, but one that needs to be done.
