Mazewar Release & Feedback

[p]After almost a year of work, I’m finally releasing my recreation of this forgotten piece of gaming history. Mazewar may look simple on the surface, but bringing this project to life took a surprising amount of effort, especially working on it entirely by myself with the help of one audio engineer @bmichaael[/p][p]I decided to release the game in its current state because I want people to actually play it, try things out, and help shape what comes next. There may still be bugs or rough edges, but your feedback is what will guide its future.[/p][p]It has always amazed me that the first 3D multiplayer game in history can’t be played on modern machines. That idea alone pushed me to rebuild it for today’s players. Mazewar supports up to 8 players online through a simple peer-to-peer system, so you can easily jump in with friends or other players.[/p][p]This project means a lot to me, and I’d really appreciate any thoughts you have. Here are a few questions to help with feedback:[/p]
Feedback Questions
[p]How do the movement and control layout feel? Is the dodge ability balanced? What do you think of the 5-second penalty system? (It was added to encourage players to dodge enemy fire instead of just trading shots.) Any issues with latency or connectivity? What features would you like to see next?[/p][p]Feel free to share anything, positive or negative. Every comment helps.[/p][p]Thanks for playing, and I hope you enjoy revisiting this piece of gaming history.[/p]
