In Ars Arcus, you can not only hear but see and interact with the game's soundtrack - play the game, watch the Manhattan band perform the music, and even interfere with their performance...!
This release is an early playable preview of Ars Arcus, a Unity game* showcasing Manhattan as a procedural game music engine - demonstrating just some of the possibilities afforded by full, note-level live control of a game's soundtrack.
The mini-game is being designed as a playground to explore new game-music mechanics, which will ultimately become a platform for composers to practice writing dynamic and non-linear procedural soundtracks for games. Future versions will support a realtime link with Manhattan and allow you to view, edit, or entirely replace the soundtrack with your own, live as the game plays - as a precursor to Manhattan's forthcoming Unity engine and editor integration.
