Greek Tragedy is a retro-styled indie survival horror game with puzzle elements. Help Amy keep her life on the college campus overrun by cultists and maybe save her relationship in the process. Uncover conspiracies, sabotage occult rituals and run for your life! Nostalgic PS1 aesthetics included.
Hello Students!
We have been busy working on Greek Tragedy. The past few months were extremely intense for our small, but very dedicated team.
We spent days and nights on improving Greek Tragedy, preparing for its official release. We mainly focused on performance so that players who use lower-end computers would have a great and smooth experience. Making sure the game is well balanced requires a lot… seriously, A LOT of small & big tweaks, adjustments, tests and time - hence the silence.
We took a closer look at lighting in some of the scenes and discovered a need to rebuild every light, using a different technology than out of the box lighting. This change greatly increased performance!

It feels like we spent tons of hours on finding the perfect solution. In the meantime we also found some light-related bugs that we were able to address.

Performance and game fixes weren’t the only things we focused on.
To spread the word about Greek Tragedy, we took part in many local events this past year.
We started 2023 off by visiting Ohayocon in January.
Ohayocon is a three-day long anime convention typically held in Columbus, Ohio. As we’re from Michigan, it was a lot of fun to be a part of it!

The second event that we visited in 2023 was The Game Designer Expo.
This one took place in our hometown - Ann Arbor, Michigan! Michigan is home to numerous game developers. game designers etc. The Game Designer Expo is a great way to celebrate gaming and a huge chance for people to sample their diverse and creative work, so we felt like it was a must for us to be there and showcase our game.

Our 3rd event - GDEX took place in June 2023 so we made it to Columbus, OH again!

A few months after that we visited Detroit for Youmacon which made it the last event of 2023 for us! It was a lot of fun to be there with our Greek Tragedy and to see everybody get through the demo!
