Hello everyone! The team at Tennis Manager are on the search for new Scouts to join our crack international team! Our Scouts are avid fans of the game and the sport, who can help us with research on all levels to improve our TM database!
The Role
We currently have a group of experts from various professions and backgrounds, all of whom are greatly passionate about what they do. They, like us, want tennis represented fairly and accurately, and that is why we are on the lookout for new talent to help us achieve this. If you’re interested in volunteering, we would need you to be a strong follower of tennis, and preferably to have some knowledge of your local or national scene. We’re looking for people who soak up every piece of news they read on the sport and its players. Perhaps you’re a regular spectator at some events? Certainly you watch a lot of tennis: junior tournaments, future challengers, or ATP and WTA events. You will need to be looking out for junior players with a lot of potential for future stardom at your own level, and keeping an eye on notable developments of players and their skills (technical, physical, mental). You will need to be unemotional and treat everyone fairly, with the intention of helping the Tennis Manager team fulfil its goal of having a tennis simulator as close to reality as possible. Important note: The game represents around 5000 real players with more than 50 characteristics each. The target population includes: [olist] [*] The world's top 100 juniors by age category, boys and girls, starting at age 12. [*] The top 2000 ATP and WTA players. [/olist] We are recruiting worldwide for this role, so get in touch wherever you are from!
How We Support You
From us, you will get access to the Tennis Manager database and the ability to freely input the data that will decide the quality and development of each individual player in the tennis leagues. For your efforts, you will also be credited in for working on the upcoming Tennis Manager 2022 title! This is not a paid role, but it is a very fulfilling experience in that you will have a very serious creative input into the Tennis Manager games. Your efforts will be appreciated by all of our players daily, while you will be in regular contact with other tennis experts who will support you and work with you together to build up a fantastic database for the Tennis Manager franchise. If you are interested in this position, send us an email at scout@reboundcg.com with your bio, motivation and experience, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can! You can read more about the value of our Scouts on the most recent edition of our Dev Diary The Baseline, and in our featured interviews below. Our current Scouts have found their roles in helping to develop the Tennis Manager database very fulfilling. You can read about them below, and their experiences in the role. I follow everything tennis-related, but I mainly focus on women in the ITF, especially the Spaniards. Whenever I have the opportunity, I also like to watch the youngsters, the stars of tomorrow! To me, the most important competency in a Tennis Manager Scout is passion above all. Besides the love for tennis, ideally you have experience playing tennis, or at least you’ve watched a lot of tennis. Also, it’s important to be fair-minded and not let the emotions play a big part! The players I think will have the most progression in 2022? I would pay close attention to the Czechs (Noskova, the Fruhvirtova sisters, Bejlek, Bartunkova). Also the 2022 Australian Open Junior finalists, Petra Marcinko (Croatia) and Sofia Costoulas (Belgium) look promising. On the ATP side I'm going to go with Arthur Fils, although I'm also big on his fellow Frenchman Arthur Cazaux. When I was younger, I followed football much closer than I do now. Playing games like Football Manager (or FIFA/PES) at the same time was something special: you felt like a football player! Unfortunately, tennis lags behind in the gaming world, but Tennis Manager can certainly fill that gap. By putting yourself in a tennis coach's shoes, you will be able to manage every aspect of the game: matches, trainings, tournaments, even finances!”
Damian, tennis journalist and TM Scout
“My name is Damian Kust and I am a tennis journalist. You can link up to my Twitter profile at https://twitter.com/damiankust. The category I’m probably most knowledgeable about and analysing the most would be the ATP Challenger Tour. Regardless, the most important competency in being a Tennis Manager Scout is the ability to dissect a player’s game and figure out their strengths and weaknesses. Of course, you should watch a lot of tennis! And have a good eye for talented players that are under-ranked. The players I think will have the most progression in 2022 are Jiří Lehečka, Dominic Stricker, Arthur Cazaux, and Jack Draper. I think that Tennis Manager is an excellent game for tennis geeks, who love realistic stats and nerdy details!”
Matthieu, manager at Tecnifibre and TM Scout
“I’m Matthieu Pogam, and I work as a tennis player manager at Tecnifibre. I'm on Twitter at https://twitter.com/MatthieuPogamTF. I would say I am most knowledgeable about the Junior circuit, the ITA, at any age or ranking. The most essential capacity is to be watching games. This is the only real way you’ll be able to detect the strong and weak points of a player. For the players with the most progression this year, I would say Martin Damm, Jack Draper and Jiří Lehečka. About Tennis Manager, it is good that a good tennis game is launched because there are still so few games about the sport.” If you're interested in becoming a TM Scout or have any questions, send us an email at scout@reboundcg.com.
