Greetings, Operators!
Since announcing Infection Free Zone through The Last Duty DLC for 112 Operator, we are receiving a lot of questions. Some of them in e-mails, some in reviews, some in comments, they're all over the place! We thought that it might be a good idea to collect the most popular ones and answer them directly, to make the whole game concept a bit more transparent.
Is Infection Free Zone a direct continuation to 112 Operator?
112 Operator takes place in a realistic setting of the modern world. That being said, The Last Duty DLC might be considered an alternative timeline. And to this alternative timeline events, Infection Free Zone is a direct continuation to. But it's not an official sequel to 112 Operator.
What are the main differences between 112 Operator's gameplay and Infection Free Zone's gameplay?
While 112 Operator is more of an emergency services management simulator, Infection Free Zone is more of a mixture between a strategy and a city builder (or even a re-builder), with additional emphasis on story-telling. Players will have to scavenge the resources, explore abandoned buildings, adapt them to their needs and create a safe settlement (a so-called "Zone").
And then of course we have to defend this Zone from the infected, who will mainly swarm us during the night. The game won't be split into duties, introducing continuous gameplay, but the distinguishable differences between the day/night gameplay are going to be present.
Is Infection Free Zone developed by the same team as 112 Operator?
Yes! And we are proud to announce that we have some of the veterans back, who were working previously on 911 Operator, a prequel beloved by a huge chunk of the community!
What's the release date?
We have no exact date yet, but the end of 2022 is probably the most optimistic scenario. The game changes drastically on a day-to-day basis and we want to make it as good as possible. It will be played with a bigger zoom into the city than the 112 Operator is usually played by most players, so we are also doing our best to make the cities in 3D look really cool!
If you have more questions about the game, feel free to ask them in the comments! We will read them all and answer them, when possible.
