Hexadrift 1.0.3 is released and available for updating! Changes for Hexadrift 1.0.3 (01/05/21) Major Updates:

Hexadrift no longer requires a constant internet connection. Still requires being launched from the Steam client
This update is NOT backwards compatible! If you have an in-progress game, you will be restarted when you update to this version. See note below.
Gameplay Updates:

Made refueling the Scanner at the Starbase cheaper to help with early-game “catch-22” situations
Made Fuel auto-refill much faster

Previous: 1 Fuel every 15 seconds
Updated: 5 Fuel every 5 seconds

Increased Resource Sell Ratio

Previous: 100 Resources for 350 Currency
Updated: 100 Resources for 500 Currency

Numerous other bug fixes and tweaks
UI Updates

Added volume controls for Music and SFX/UI instead of Mute/Unmute toggles
Decreased number of particles expelled when scanning a resource-hex
Important note on migrating to offline data storage: Previous versions of Hexadrift employed an online back-end service to remotely set game-data and store user data (saved games) in the cloud for cross-machine play, anti-cheating mechanisms and other things. This back-end service is typically very stable, however there are times when connections are refused, or the service is very slow causing issues in-game. This 1.0.3 update moves everything away from the back-end service and stores all game related data locally for complete offline play. Since the back-end service has been REMOVED from the game entirely, you will no longer be able to load up your save game from previous versions. If you are in the middle of a game playing on version 1.0.2 or below, you will be restarted when you update to 1.0.3. If you have already completed the game, you will keep all of your achievements, but you will be restarted from the beginning of the game like any other new player. I hope this update makes Hexadrift more stable and that you can enjoy the game uninterrupted!
