Hello! I’m Connor the dev making Witching Well, and this is the very first post here on the community page — so, hi! 👋 Witching Well is a magic sandbox about being a witch. The games basic loop boils down to collecting magic ingredients to make spells to solve problems that result in items, powers, resources, etc. Theres a Social sim element to it via assisting people through the well and expanding towns. But the games meant to be a sandbox first and foremost so you could go be a hermit witch who terrorizes everyone on the island if you wanted to. Our notable systems so far include: - Spell crafting system & spells (Bash, Life, Bounce, Color, Glow, Wind, Levitation): 🪄✨ - Fully interactable sandbox world: 🌍🔧 - Levitation & attachment system: ⬆️🔗 - Modular Building system with 63 unique parts & magic brushes: 🏗️🖌️ [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45004761/0fe239ac38f40fc01c3f725e9b8751528e9dd4d6.png[/img] - Basic Gardening: 🌱🌼 - Wishes (quests) & basic town building through the well: 💫🏘️ - Various usable items & furniture (lights, chests, beds, shovels, books): 💡📦🛏️📚 - Various usable magic items (wands, flying brooms, magic brushes): 🪄🧹🖌️ - Craftable magic items & unique spell interactions: 🔮⚙️ - Unique NPCs & creatures (with likes, dislikes, schedules, etc.): 👥🐉 - User Interface (UI): 🖥️🛠️ - Day/Night cycle & simple “seasons” (Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring): 🌞🌜🍁❄️🌸 - Music, particles, visuals, and aesthetics: 🎵✨🎨 [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45004761/4f578a4fc1f94ed27df2694ffc80c54613445808.png[/img] But content-wise — its still early on. We have way more spells planned as well as npcs, wishes, town building stuff. For our early access release, pretty much every system listed above needs to be expanded and built upon or added to in some way. The island is modeled and fully interactable, but it’s still mostly natural terrain. Trees, rocks, plants. The world needs more fleshed out areas. Things to do. Puzzles to solve. Unique areas. That and generally adding more content is what I'm working on now leading up to Early Access Release. I'm a very technical person and I'd love to get some help from people who are skilled in the areas where I'm lacking (Modeling, Art, Animation, and visual design in general). Well, that's it for now.
