We conducted a detailed investigation to uncover the full story of this incident. Firstly, Paul, who always took care of Jumrye’s medication, saw Jumrye struggling to swallow bitter herbal medicine. Instead of the medicine, she gave Jumrye a large amount of aspartame. Paul didn't provide a reason for this action and merely stated it was for Jumrye, who couldn’t take the bitter medicine. After Paul's arrest, a search of her home revealed an unusually large amount of aspartame, and interviews with acquaintances indicated that she was in the habit of adding aspartame to all her food. The investigation team concluded that Paul was an extreme aspartame addict, to the point where she abandoned common sense for an unending sweet taste. Considering the harmful effects of sugar on the elderly, the investigation team added that it might not have been the worst decision. However, Paul claimed not to remember due to the purification effect.
