Hi everyone! We’ve got two exciting announcements that we’d love to share with you all today!
We’re happy to bring you the very first gameplay footage of Gimmick! 2. The team has been hard at work putting our new trailer together, and we hope you’ll like it as much as we do.
The gameplay in the trailer represents the first two levels of the game, showing open fields inspired by Swedish Midsummer, cold, icy mountains, and caves filled to the brim with hot and deadly lava.
There’s plenty more to come, and we can’t wait to share further details about the game, the world, and its dangerous inhabitants in the upcoming months.
Meet David Wise
Sure, smooth controls and sharp level design are super important. But few things are as crucial for a video game as its soundtrack. A major reason we still remember all those classics from the '80s and '90s with such fondness is their music. Fortunately, we have a true master on board for Gimmick! 2. Without further ado:
The composer behind the soundtrack for Yumetaro's latest game is none other than David Wise!

If you haven’t been sleeping in a hi-jinxed jungle for the last couple of decades, we’re talking about one of the most accomplished composers in the gaming world. He has been writing video game music since the '80s and is to thank for, among many others, the soundtracks of Donkey Kong Country, Yooka-Laylee, Battletoads, Snake Rattle 'n' Roll, and Diddy Kong Racing. Plus, he's a genuinely nice and warm-hearted person!
For Gimmick! 2, David has composed spirited new melodies and also fondly interpreted a couple of old classics. The soundtrack was creatively directed by Pelle Cahndlerby and recorded live in Sweden together with Joel Bille.
