Fireball 2 Demo Now Available!

Fireball 2

Fireball 2 is an elegant and satisfying arcade survival game. Dodge and boost your way through massive the flood of enemies. Lure them into range and detonate a devastating bomb! Features infinite waves, two difficulties, local co-op, dazzling visuals, and an epic soundscape.

The demo for Fireball 2 is now available on Steam! The demo will be in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, and it's releasing a little early to allow for press preview access, and to get additional feedback before even more people take a look at it. Aside from the fairly recent name change, a couple other things have been updated recently. The visuals of the game have evolved a bit, and the options menu also received a bit of an overhaul to make it less cluttered. On the visual side of things, the lens flares have been made more prominent and more visually pleasing. Overall bloom was turned down a little to compensate for this change. On the options side of things, a few options have been added now that there's more room, including more visual customization, vibration settings, and you can also choose which Fireball Player 1 uses. The "Fire" fireball is bright orange, while the "Smoke" fireball is made of... (surprise!) mostly smoke. Player 2 uses whichever one Player 1 doesn't. As for the demo content itself, it's a generous demo, because I want people who pay money for the game to be very happy with it. It's not easy to reach the end of the demo, especially in Hardcore mode (which you unlock after beating the demo normally). But if you do reach it, and want to play beyond Wave 10, you'll definitely enjoy the full version as well. I also think the demo being generous will make people more likely to recommend it to their friends. Aside from being able to play endless waves in the full game, I plan to include online leaderboards and some achievements. There may be a gameplay tweak or two, as I think some smaller chainable-bombs (like Fireball 1) would make a good change of pace for a wave once in a while, and want to mix up enemy spawning a bit more too. Those won't change the core of the game in any significant way, aside from making longer play sessions a bit less repetitive. Visually I want to get some more prominent radial streaks (like the main game logo) into the bomb explosions. I don't have high expectations for the game being "successful" in terms of sales, but I enjoy playing it a lot. There might be others out there with similar tastes. I know I prefer simple, flashy action games more than most people do, and Fireball 2 hits that target for me. One last word of advice for enjoying the demo: turn down the lights and crank up the volume.
