Hey all,
I wanted to jump on and give a quick update on a few things.
Episode 5:
I don't really have much of an update for episode 5. I'm still working on it as much as I can, but work is slow at the moment, not just on the cabin but on everything. I'm just having one of those months where, no matter how much I think I'm doing, nothing seems to be getting done.
That being said, around 65% of the work is done. I have 3 more scenes to do, which total around 140 renders, so there is still a decent amount to go.
Emi - Christmas Special
This is actually going a lot smoother than I thought it would. I've got around 70% of the art done, and Wiz has around 80% of the writing done, so it should be good for a Christmas release.
That being said, the Christmas special has taken more of a back seat the last week or so, as I really want to focus on getting the cabin finished. I don't really think it'll be a massive issue if we don't quite make a Christmas release. I'd much rather try to keep cabin fans happy than make a quick buck.
2024!
When 2024 comes, you'll also notice a tonne of changes coming. First and foremost, I want the cabin to be released every two months. That might not be possible at the start, as it might take us a little time to get into the groove of it, but eventually we will make it happen, even if that means releasing slightly smaller episodes.
Second, no more small games for a while. I can't say there won't be any at all in 2024 because they likely will, as both Emi and The Cabin only make around $4–8 a day now on Steam and both Wiz and myself do have bills to pay, so we'll likely release a small mini game every now and then just so we can afford to keep going, but the only way that'll happen is if Wiz gets a full episode ahead of me on The Cabin (so say I'm halfway through episode 6; he needs to have episode 7 fully written before starting on a mini game ), and I won't start on the art until an episode of The Cabin has just been released.
