Devlog 48: On The Write Track

Methods: The Canada Files

Methods: The Canada Files is a mystery visual novel. You play as a team of eccentric detectives in a mysterious crime-solving competition. To solve each mystery, you must use your team member’s unique detective methods, refute faulty theories with evidence, and find out the truth!

Here's what I worked on since the last devlog.

Outlined the mystery
Finished Chapter 16
Started writing Chapter 17
Completed two music tracks
It took a long time to complete a mystery outline I was happy enough with to begin the writing process, but I'm pleased to say that it is finally finished. I've started writing File 04, and so far it's been going smoothly. I have a secret plan in place to try to make the game's development go a bit faster — but what I have to be the most careful about is making sure the writing is at the same level of quality as the other Files, so I can't rush that part. I'm being secretive about it because I'm not sure if it will work yet — but if it does, it may lay out a path for my future development workflow. When I've gotten stuck on writing, I tackle the music tracks instead. That way I am always doing something productive.
