In 1611, the most powerful monarchs of the continent concluded a treaty known as [b]Magna Carta Technocratum[/b], which introduced a great new vision of abandoning the widespread use of magic and focusing on Alchemy, Technology and Science instead. Under [b]Magna Carta Technocratum[/b], all magical artefacts were to be deactivated. Enthusiasm for technology, governed by the laws of physics and chemistry, was to replace the cult of the supernatural. However, not all the monarchs believed in the new technocratic reality. In response to the charter, many secret orders and fraternities sprang to life to cultivate and preserve the knowledge of magic. Even conspiracy movements emerged in an attempt to restore the long-established magical world. It was the beginning of a new era, where people’s desire to reject magic and embrace technology, manifested most clearly through the signing of [b]Magna Carta[/b], clashed with the traditionalists’ determination to protect the old ways.
