Devlog #1: Crystal and Point of Interest

Hello, Pioneers! Welcome to the very first devlog for Native Isekai Defense! In this devlog, we’ll be sharing progress on what we’ve been working on and some plans we might implement in the future. Alright, let’s dive straight into the progress update!
Progress Update

Crystals
We’ve made some adjustments to crystals to make the game even more exciting. Here’s what’s new: Crystals can’t be mined if there are monsters nearby. You’ll need to defeat the monsters first before you can start mining. Crystals now come in different sizes: small, medium, and large! Larger crystals are more likely to spawn at Points of Interest (POIs) scattered across the stage. Speaking of POIs, let’s move on to the next point.
Points of Interest (POIs)
In the current version, players can build towers and barricades using crystals found across the map. But let’s be honest—just running around mining crystals gets a bit boring, right? To make stage exploration more exciting, we’re adding POIs throughout the map. At these POIs, you’ll find: - Crystals: The chances of finding large crystals here are higher compared to regular areas. - Treasure: Opening treasure chests will reward you with new catalysts. - Monsters: Every POI will be guarded by monsters, ranging from regular enemies to elite ones. As usual, waves of monsters will attack the Ethereal Nexus, but now there will also be wandering monsters roaming the map. We’re also introducing elite monsters! These are stronger variants of existing monsters with significantly higher stats, offering a fresh challenge for players. Elite monsters will come in different types, such as: - Elite Defender: Monsters with boosted defense stats. - Elite Attacker: Monsters with boosted attack stats. For wandering monsters, their levels will depend on how far they are from the Ethereal Nexus. The farther away they are, the higher their level. Closer monsters will have lower levels.
New Buildings
We’re planning to add two new buildings: Artillery Tower: A tower that can attack enemies from a long distance. Jump Pad: This lets you jump quickly to distant areas. With Jump Pads, you can travel between POIs or return to the base/Ethereal Nexus in no time after mining far away.
Town Hub
The Town Hub is currently in development! So far, we’ve added the Lobby, Town Square, residential areas, gardens, and a Blacksmith. Just a quick note: the footage shown above is not final and is subject to change before the update goes live. And that’s all for this devlog! Stay tuned for more progress in future devlogs. Good morning, good evening, and good night, Pioneers!
