Development anecdote (1)

High School Odyssey

A campus simulation game full of tons of surprising interactive gameplay elements along the way.

Our game has been in continuous development for more than a year, during which several demos have been released. A few months ago, a player asked me whether a mobile game called "全民X霸" was made by us. I told him that I had never heard of that game, and never participated in the development of that game. Then, that player sent me a picture, which really made me dumbfounded. Some players may think it is a promotional poster for our game. I have also heard about the embezzlement of other game resources by some domestic game manufacturers. Just recently, "God of War" game director Cory Barlog tweeted a copy of "God of War" promotional image, and said: "This (game) is better." This promotional image is from a Chinese mobile game, and its background, characters and composition are almost exactly the same as the official promotional image of "God of War". But I really did not expect them to be so rampant, even our unknown indie game that has not been officially launched. It can only be said that these game companies really have the ability to find materials. Our small studio is weak and unable to contend with those game makers who embezzle materials. We can only make some small protests here, hoping that they will find it conscientiously and turn back. However, looking at the happy appearance of these companies counting money, I am afraid we will see more plagiarized advertisements of this kind in the future.
