Hey everyone!
We’re excited to kick off our very first devblog here on Steam! As we continue developing Survivor of Egypt: The Ancient Curse, we want to bring you along for the journey, sharing behind-the-scenes insights, development progress, and sneak peeks at what’s coming next.
In this first post, we’ll talk about where we are in development and give you a glimpse of what’s ahead. Stay tuned, and let’s build something amazing together!
Right now, we’ve built a solid foundation, and the core gameplay is in a great place! With various meta progressions and difficulty scaling, there’s already plenty of replayability. However, one of our biggest challenges at the moment is the beginning of the game. We've noticed that it can be a bit difficult to grasp at first, so we’re focusing on improving onboarding and early-game clarity to make sure new players can jump in and have fun right away.
At the same time, we’re constantly working on improving the look and feel of the game. We believe that great gameplay is even better when supported by equally strong visuals and sound design. Whether it’s refining animations, adding satisfying audio feedback, or enhancing the overall atmosphere, we want every moment to feel immersive and engaging.

What’s Next?
In the short term, we’re focusing on revamping the class system to make it feel more rewarding and immersive. This includes reworking existing classes and introducing new ones to add more variety and depth to gameplay. Here is a work in progress screenshot of the current class selection for you!
Looking further ahead, we’re planning a brand-new game mode designed for players who want to keep grinding after finishing the main story. While we’re still in the early stages of planning, our goal is to create an engaging endgame experience with plenty of challenges and replayability.
We’ll be sharing more updates as development progresses, and we’d love to hear your thoughts! If you want to stay up to date with the latest news, behind-the-scenes insights, and sneak peeks, be sure to follow us on Twitter @FoureXo_Games
Your feedback means a lot to us, so feel free to join the conversation and let’s make this game the best it can be together!
