Demo Release Update – Here’s What’s Happening

Hello everyone, I hope this message finds you well! I wanted to share an update regarding the demo release of The Shadows Within: Nightmare's Game Extended Preview. The demo was originally scheduled to launch on December 5th, but due to an unforeseen issue, I’ve had to delay its release. During the final stages of testing, I discovered a significant technical issue involving the temporal upscaling technologies implemented in the game—namely DLSS, FSR, XeSS, and TAUU. While these features are integrated into the game, they are unfortunately not functioning as expected and are even causing performance drops instead of improvements. The root cause lies in the version of Unreal Engine I’m currently using (5.5.1), which does not officially support these technologies yet. To resolve this, I’ve been actively collaborating with the Unreal Engine team and working on a custom patch to fix the issue. It’s a challenging process, but I’m doing everything I can to ensure the best possible experience for you. I deeply apologize for this delay and any inconvenience it may have caused. Please know that I’m committed to delivering a polished and optimized demo. If the issue proves unresolvable in the short term, I will disable the affected technologies and release the demo without them to avoid further delays. I’ll share another update with you by next week at the latest to keep you informed about the progress. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support—it truly means the world to me! Stay tuned, and I’ll make sure to keep you updated. Berat Çevik
