Dark Laws Playtest

[p]Hey everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]We’re excited to finally share a first glimpse of our game with you! After years of long nights, countless iterations, and endless cups of coffee, we’re releasing a chill playtest of Dark Laws on Steam. This isn’t the full game, but it’s a chance for you to explore, experiment, and get a feel for the world we’ve been building.[/p][p][/p][p]In this playtest, you’ll wander around Telos Island, a place filled with mysterious loot, weapons, and spells with one of 9 heroes. You can pick up loot, test out your abilities, and just enjoy the game at your own pace—no enemies, no pressure, just exploration.[/p][p][/p][p]Keep your eyes open while exploring… you might stumble across a Dragon Horn, a legendary artifact that lets you soar through the skies atop a mighty dragon.[/p][p][/p][p]Here’s a quick rundown of the controls:[/p][p]WASD – Move around[/p][p]Shift – Run[/p][p]Ctrl - Crouch [/p][p]Left Mouse Button – Melee light attack[/p][p]Right Mouse Button – Heavy attack[/p][p]F – Shield[/p][p]Q – Magic[/p][p]E - Pick Up Loot / Use Portal [/p][p]Tab – Open inventory (drag and drop items for selection and removing from inventory)[/p][p]H - Call Dragon with the dragon horn (point to a clean area on the ground)[/p][p]Alt+F4 - Exit Game[/p][p][/p][p]We also want to be upfront: this is an early playtest, so some things might not work perfectly. Expect a few bugs or quirks—that’s all part of the testing and learning process.[/p][p][/p][p]The idea was to create a sandbox feel, where you can play around with combat, loot, and magic, and really get a sense of how the full game might play. Think of it as a place to wander, experiment, and have fun without worrying about scores or rankings.[/p][p][/p][p]A little about our journey:[/p][p]Dark Laws has been a labor of love for the last 4 years. From the very beginning, our goal was to build a world that feels alive, full of exploration, and rewarding to engage with. Along the way, we’ve faced challenges, learned a ton, and grown as a team.
