I figured it'd be a fun thing to add little 10-15 minute episodes to the story that add to the game's bizarre little universe! These'll be quick and easy little narratives that explore a particular part of the world, So! Our first episode will be titled Curse of The Underdown, a Lovecraftian take on the "anime beach episode" featuring a Canadian yeti hunter sent to check up on 1937 Australia, a country filled with gooey halflings that were once Australians, now fused with shoggoths that fled the Antarctic. Some of the characters include: -Mad Maggie the English Cannibal ex-pat. English cannibals make up a sizeable portion of Australia’s population, and while referred to as “Bloody Pests” by natives, they do wonders to keep the dangerous Koala population down, who’s saliva can melt the goo right off an Aussie’s bones. Koala blood is brewed into a fizzy alcoholic/poisonous beverage known as “Blager” that keeps the cannibals cheerful and beachside. -Zoe Bechamel the Canadian yeti hunter and newly arrived envoy for the Vancouver Beastmasters, the Canadian branch of the Miskatonic University. Zoe’s tasked with finding out why Miskatonic employees never return from Australia. Zoe’s more used to the frozen tundra chasing yetis than sandy beaches and gooey little fellas. -Derro the Bus Driver. Derro somehow managed to tame a Jumbuck, a gigantic larvae-like creature that spins webs made of wool. Aussie Scientists theorise that this thing either eats a bunch of sheep or is a sheep. Either way, there’s no more sheep and plenty of Jumbucks. -Li’l Jerrah. Zoe’s tour-guide (along with an uninvited Maggie) to show that everything in Australia’s fine, and there’s no need to keep sending Bloody Envoys any more. Li’l Jerrah’s a keen fisherman, though the mineral enriches waters of Australia from the initial Shoggoth invasion attract so much fish, crabs, lobsters and shrimp that anyone could stick a toe into Bloodless Beach and come up with a week’s seafood attached. So, yeah! Curse of The Underdown is being worked on right now, and will be free for everyone with a Steam copy of The Miskatonic!
