Each characters quest-line will be tracked, and remind you of the next step. Completion markers are shown when there is no more content for the current patch. For existing saves, you'll need to progress a quest-line for it to show up. So that means if you've finished a quest-line, it won't be in there. Tough shit idiot... Currently there are 17 quest-lines tracked. This doesn't track every bit of content in the game, so some of the smaller contents and such are excluded.
