Each season of Disney Speedstorm brings a new racetrack, new Racers, new Crew members and cosmetics. But one other aspect that grows every season is the soundtrack list, as each new racetrack inspired by a Disney or Pixar world comes with its own musical backdrop. Players that navigate the cloudy peaks of the Mount Olympus Circuit, inspired by Disney's Hercules, do so on the beat of a punchy remix of the Muses’ "Zero to Hero". They can also feel the rhythmic pulse of "Trust in Me" from The Jungle Book as they dodge obstacles strategically snaked throughout the Jungle Ruins environment. And then there's the exhilarating beat of "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Mulan, driving players to conquer rival racers on The Great Wall environment. The team that handled the collection of reimagined hits includes four experienced composers based in Gameloft Montreal: Vincent Labelle, Martin Courcy, Nicolas Dube and Francis Collard. "Having been composers for the Asphalt franchise for some time, we are used to writing music that works for such racing games, each with our own approach. We immediately saw the opportunity to bring in some of Disney and Pixar’s most iconic songs and adapt them in ways neither we nor fans around the world have ever heard them before", explains Vincent Labelle, Music Supervisor. The blend of the composers' expertise and the guidance of the Disney and Pixar teams ensured that these remixes honor the original songs while injecting dynamic new elements.
