The main game is pretty much done, but I decided to add a fun little demo so everybody can check it out. I think I messed everything up setting up the demo, so....if all goes well it'll be up in a few days, if not, Steam testers will kick it back. Either way it'll go up sooner or later, and I'll put the main game up at that time as well, since I don't need to send that for review, unless I just completely messed up the store setup for my main game as well and Steam just vanishes me. Oh, and I lost 3 days' worth of work on my demo due to some crazy file corruption. I spent all day today trying to fix everything, had to go to a backup and redo a lot of it.
I took my own advice and started doing Judo again after many years. My coach is reaaaally good, also has a sambo background, I don't think she understands that I'm just trying to stay in somewhat half-decent shape, but once I'm done with this little hobby, I'm going back to more Judo and drawing, I started on a webcomic, I'll continue to check on this game and make updates fixing any game-breaking glitches and bugs, but I think I am absolutely done with this whole indie game making thing. The way that indie gaming is going, I think there will be space for 3 types of games: AAA games, shovelware, and the very rare innovative (and well-funded) indie darling, everything else will be buried by the first two, and I think the last one will be seen less unless devs get creative with the funding. Which isn't necessarily bad, and I think funding sites for creators will do more to help indie development and innovation than anything online stores can do. I think we're already seeing this, as some really good upcoming games have been getting lots of crowd funding.
Oh yeah and my back is jacked up, I'm sure doing Judo and sitting on a chair for long stretches of time isn't helping, although working out more is actually helping my back pain (stabilizer muscles and all that), but in the short term, I'm in a lot of pain, oh yeah and the title of this announcement makes no sense.
So...happy new year, 2020 sucked, at least we'll get Occultus Command released in 2021 *knocks on wood.
