An Important Anouncement - The Future

European Ship Simulator

A speeding power boat, a humble tug to a luxury cruise liner. Captain eight highly detailed ships, fight against realistic water physics and take in spectacular vistas as you navigate famous European ports.

Hello everyone, We would like to share some news with you regarding the development of European Ship Simulator. We would like to let everyone know why we have been pretty quiet over the past few months. During the Early Access period of European Ship Simulator, negotiations with the developer had broken down and this meant we were unable to support the game further. This resulted in a hunt to locate a new development team to take over the rest of the development process. We should have communicated this earlier, though when we started the search for a new development team to take over, we were expecting the turnaround for the new developer to take over the project to be much shorter. However upon receiving the source code, the new developer had asked us if they could start the project again so that they can implement new features much more effectively without the restrictions of using the previous code. So, the game evolved and became its own game, using perhaps some existing models (though retextured to increase performance) and using the same water engine. The game has been for the last month been titled “World Ship Simulator” and will release during Early Access at a similar stage of playability that European Ship Simulator had become. While we have spent time and resources to develop a new game with a new developer, we do feel we should have communicated more effectively what was happening behind the scenes of European Ship Simulator. For that reason we have the following in place. Anyone who has purchased European Ship Simulator up to the release of World Ship Simulator, will be given World Ship Simulator for free. World Ship Simulator will differ in quite a few ways and below are just a few bullet points to list what we will have when it launches • Open world map with no loading screens between ports • Initially three fictional ports (with busier ports) • Career mode where players start with a ship, earn money, gain experience and purchase new ships • Ship Crew added • New day/night sky effects • Ability to speed up time in game • Damage system with visible damage that dents the sides of ships • Currently working on developing a hovercraft to use in the game • Ability to leave the vessel and accept missions off shore We'd also like to share a few screenshots of World Ship Simulator (two of these vessels you may remember from European Ship Simulator) While currently we are using the same water system we used for European Ship Simulator, we are also keeping an eye on a new water system that we may use for the game once it releases https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHudbVe5QbA So in summary, World Ship Simulator is to launch later this year in Early Access and everyone who owns European Ship Simulator will be given this for free. We really do want to expand the Ship Simulator genre and we hope you will join us as we progress further with this. All the best, Chris
